Tai
is a wonderful, sweet, natural-eared, black boy. He has accompanied
me everywhere since 8 weeks old. His canine education began with
PK classes and quickly advanced through intermediate obedience and
onto his CGC at age 10 months. We have worked in herding, agility
and obedience and he loves it all. Tai has a natural aptitude for
learning and he likes nothing better then when we go to the training
room and start doing some work. His extra-curricula activities have
included numerous seminars at the University of Massachusetts in
the Oganismic and Evolutionary Biology department where I am working
on my PhD, attending many, many graduate student meetings, visits
to the Harvard Museum of Natural History (where he fell asleep under
one of the exhibits), and helping out with some of my clients who
have fear aggressive dogs - Tai gives all the right signals to put
these dogs at ease.
Tai
is my first show dog and he learned the ropes more quickly than
I did, but when I caught up to him, he quickly finished his championship
25 months. Not bad for a natural-eared black with a gimpy handler!
Along the way, Tai took a first placement in his class at a regional
specialty, and had two other class placements at national specialties.
On Tai’s 2-year birthday I took him to the RASS in Sturbridge,
MA where he went Excellent, Pre-Select and earned his HIC. He went
to a couple of shows as a special and won BOS under breeder judge
Donavon Thompson. We are all very proud of him. He is having fun
at home now and we will go for his Canadian Championship when I
have finished my dissertation and then back out in the Breed ring
